TASSP Diversity Leadership Award

TASSP is announcing the “Diversity Leadership Award” for TASSP members at the high school level and middle school level. Principals and Assistant Principals at both levels will be encouraged to apply for this distinguished honor. Recipients of this award will be formally recognized at TASSP’s annual summer conference.

Nominations will be accepted from current members of TASSP whose program or initiative has proven to promote diversity through stronger relationships, improved communications, and enhanced understanding within your respective campus or district, or the broader community within the current or past year. Nominees must be either a Principal or Assistant Principal from a High School or Middle Level campus. The application deadline is April 1, 2025.

Key Components of the Diversity Leadership Award Include:

  • Promoting diversity at the campus and/or district and/or community
  • Embracing diversity at the campus and/or district and/or community
  • Educating the campus and/or district and/or community about diversity

Examples of Programs and or Initiatives Promoting Diversity:

  1. Student Groups or Programs
  2. Campus/District Employee Groups or Programs
  3. Community Groups or Programs

Award Winners: 

  1. A minimum of three Finalists will be determined from the applications submitted by the TASSP Diversity Leadership Committee in two categories – High School and Middle Level.
  2. Finalists will be notified and asked to submit a narrative and/or a 3-5 minute video describing the diversity program nominated.
  3. One award winner will be announced at the TASSP Summer Workshop for each category – High School and Middle Level.
  4. Each winner will receive a monetary award to promote their respective diversity program or initiative.
